The simple answer to this question is:
If you know a Freemason, ask him!
The requirements for a man to become a Freemason are simple:
- He must make application to a lodge, for membership is not achieved through formal invitation.
- He must be of good moral character.
- He must be at least 21 years of age.
- He must believe in a Supreme Being.
- He must be willing to assume an obligation to the fraternity. The obligation that he will be required to take will not be incompatible with his religious or civil duties, and those duties which he owes to his family and his fellow man.
- He must be prepared to regularly attend meetings of his lodge (normally 1 per month)
